Sea monster make over

Is the sea monster gone? :)
Remember my last post of the sea monster?? I changed up the scallops by making them one ribbon like piece and then aligned them together instead of off-setting them. Plus I made the ribbon black instead of white...for some contrast. I think this works better! :) Although it gives me more ideas for other cakes! :)
Thanks for looking! :)

  3. This is soo pretty. The original was cute but the black band on this really breaks up the white and makes the cake pop. Aligning the scallops helped too. What did u cut the scallops with? They are really pretty.
BTW, Thanks for your help. Really appreciated it.

  4. I love this cake, and plan to make one in a Christmas theme. Green scallops with a red ribbon and poinsettia in the middle. I would love to know what you cut your scallops with???? It would be such a help. ALSO, is this cake covered in fondant first, then layers of the scalloped ribbons? Thanks!

  5. The scallop cutter is an FMM cutter from Global Sugar Art (online). I covered the cake in fondant first, then applied the fondant scallops on top of the main layer. Hope that helps!
